Karen C. Rudnicki`s practice focuses on defending school districts and communities in New York State and federal courts. Prior to joining Silverman & Associates in 2015, Karen led the family law practice of a local litigation firm, where she also practiced matrimonial, senior law, commercial law and personal injury. Prior to that, Karen was the chief researcher for a case involving the restitution of art looted by the Nazis in federal court. While in law school, Karen worked for Legal Information for Families Today, a New York-based nonprofit; for Avocats sans frontières; for the National Labour Relations Board; and for Judge Bernadette D`Souza, District Civil Court, Parish of Orleans. In 2012, she received a fellowship from the Public Interest Law Foundation. Karen graduated from Boston University in 2002 with a bachelor`s degree in art history and a minor in political science. After college, she worked for years as a literary agent and then at a retail broker, where she obtained her licenses to trade securities. She graduated from Tulane University School of Law in 2013, where she was editor-in-chief of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law, a member of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team, and one of four students selected to represent Tulane at the annual Vis tournament in Vienna, Austria. Karen has been licensed in New York State since 2014. Karen has volunteered extensively in after-school programs and is an avid reader, traveler, fly fisherwoman and skier.
